Full Home Lighting Redesign Done Right in Bothell

Lighting is one of those things that most people don't think about until it's wrong. Too dim in the kitchen. A staircase that feels unsafe at night. Bathrooms that look like an afterthought. This Bothell remodel was a chance to fix all of that - and then some.

We redesigned the lighting layout from scratch across the entire home. That meant figuring out not just where fixtures go, but how each space is actually used and what kind of light it needs. The kitchen got globe pendants over the island, clean recessed cans across the vaulted ceiling, and the natural light from a skylight working alongside it all. It's a completely different feel than a single overhead fixture trying to do everything.

The stair lighting is one of our favorites on this job. LED strips run along every riser, casting a soft, even glow the full length of the staircase. It looks sharp, but it also serves a real purpose - navigating stairs at night without flipping on a bright overhead light. In the living area, the built-in shelves flanking the stone fireplace got their own LED accent lighting tucked underneath each shelf, giving the whole wall a warm, layered look. Both spaces show what thoughtful electrical remodeling can do when the lighting plan is built into the design, not bolted on at the end.

We didn't stop at the main living spaces. The bathrooms got recessed LED fixtures with a warm halo ring trim, and both the shower niche and the tub niche have LED strips tucked inside - so every detail is lit the way it deserves to be. Bedrooms got properly placed recessed cans, and one room has a pair of wall sconces flanking an accent wall that make the whole space feel intentional. This is what a full home lighting redesign looks like when every room gets the same level of attention.
