A panel in the bathroom - tucked behind a cabinet door, sitting right next to a toilet and a washing machine. That's exactly what we were dealing with here. It's more common than you'd think in older homes, but it's also a code violation and a genuine safety concern. Water and electricity don't mix, and having your main panel in a wet location is the kind of thing that needs to be corrected.
So we pulled the old panel out of the bathroom completely and moved everything to the exterior of the home. That means the new 200 amp panel is now properly located, accessible, and up to current code. The meter base sits right alongside it, and the whole setup is clean and organized - the way it should have been from the start.
The interior of the new Eaton panel shows neat, organized wiring with breakers properly loaded and labeled. That's not just cosmetic. Organized wiring inside a panel means faster troubleshooting down the road, easier future work, and - most importantly - nothing hidden that shouldn't be. When we do a service upgrade, we do it right the first time.
A 200 amp service also gives the home a lot more headroom. If you've got an older home that's only running 100 amps, you're probably running into capacity issues without even realizing it - tripping breakers, dimming lights when appliances kick on, no room to add circuits for EV chargers or upgraded appliances. Upgrading the service fixes all of that.
Whether your panel is outdated, undersized, or just in the wrong location, these are the kinds of electrical panel upgrades and replacements we handle regularly. It's not a glamorous job, but getting it done correctly makes a real difference in both the safety and the long-term function of your home's electrical system.
